In the climax of this adaptation of Stephen King’s vampire novel, writer Ben Mears smacks an overhead light à la Psycho, sending it swaying back and forth as he tries to stake the heart of a feral bloodsucker. As the light sways, it alternately obscures and reveals the darkness behind young Mark, offering glimpses of the undead slowly crawling toward him.
