It’s October and therefore officially horror movie season, so I thought I’d share two DP profiles I recently wrote for American Cinematographer – one on Backrooms’ Jeremy Cox and another on Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma’s Eric Yue.

You can find the Backrooms piece, in which Cox details filling the film’s 30,000 square feet of sets with 360 Titan tubes in overhead fluorescent fixtures, at the American Cinematographer website.

The Camp Miasma piece is currently print only in October’s horror issue.

Yue gets into the film’s gory practical effects, breaks down a memorable oner set to A Long December and talks practical matte paintings.
